Opinions on AI range from A to Z, with no one— not even the founders— supplying concrete answers to rely on or truly trust. It’s a free-for-all, with changes in AI swirling so fast that heads are spinning. Worse, somewhere along the way, the topic turned political- another push to incite division- but why?

AI’s fingers are reaching out, winding everywhere, and there’s no stop in sight. You can deny it if you like, but it’s unlikely you’ll escape it.

So with that in mind, we’ve been examining everything we can. We’re testing and questioning many topics surrounding AI, particularly as it touches the marketing, business, and content/media space. But I’m not going to lie, there are still more questions than answers.

And that, my friends, is exactly why, starting with the very first Season 2 LIVE video show, we’re asking all the questions about AI. We’re researching and learning the latest, and covering the most important AI topics and ongoing updates on The Marketing Mirror.

AI is Here, so Get Near and Dear

AI and human collaboration offers a spectrum of possibilities. It touches our capabilities in everything from science to art to business to music to education and beyond. The only constraints are those that human minds don’t allow. Embracing AI isn’t nearly universal, even though it lingers universally no matter.

Still, many questions, some confusion, and a lot of worries are circulating around the topic of AI, and this turbulent atmosphere only seems to be building.

So at The Marketing Mirror, we’re paying attention, reporting what we’re hearing, finding, and learning concerning the technology and mystery of AI. We’re digital, but not that “techie,” and yet we understand the importance, the implications, and the reasons everyone needs to pay attention to this mad tech surge.

AI is not going away. But we can learn more about it. We can impact its use cases and make informed decisions that may, of course, change as we continue to learn. What we can’t do is simply ignore it. Since our first Season 2 episode, we’ve been researching the topic.

We opened Season 2 LIVE for The Marketing Mirror by asking questions concerning the impact of AI on people, citing new studies from MIT, CMU, and others to illustrate effects on the brain and brain function. We wondered about AI adoption in education and the repercussions on students and learning. How does AI affect workers who are regularly using AI over thinking, and does that impact output or human wellbeing?

Opinions on AI Hit Website Search Optimization: Introducing AIO, GEO, et al

Beyond social media marketing changes in posting, responses, and even how the feeds ‘feed’ content. We find a surge in platform-on-platform sharing, where platforms hoard content without sending traffic to websites at all.

And then, there’re organic search traffic changes that are so drastic that tons of top blogs dropped completely off the map.

Daniel Stanica demonstrates the collapse of blogging in a deeply researched post, showing his study to prove the significant changes. Many blogging colleagues are living this, and affiliate marketers along with black-hat SEO-hackers are being knocked down completely.

Off-site platforms, the formerly poo-pooed ‘rented space’ of the internet, are now coveted spaces as a place to at least try to get seen or found and eventually, known. Again, social media marketing has had a huge impact with the shocking changes of an AI era.

But now, your website is really detached from viewers finding it, and the digital welcome center you worked so hard to build for your business suddenly feels more like a digital ghost town.

Your Business Website is Now on Cloud 9

If you have a website- an expected digital business card, in my view– you now have to accept at least some opinions on AI that suggest the need to adapt so you are found for AI answers, since it’s overtaking search at breakneck speed.

Luckily, friend of the show and well-known search expert Ann Smarty has answers for you in this zero-click scenario in this post. (Or view on YouTube!)

One thing she says, echoing our thoughts, concerns the emphasis on brand search, noting that much of that information is anchored in your website data.

From metadata to blog structure to the words in your title and intro, AI takes a different approach to scanning your site for answers. And it also finds you via other key platforms, like LinkedIn or Reddit.

Check out this recent post for exactly what to do to turn your website into a data center for your business. Or you can check out this episode of The Marketing Mirror to uncover all the details of your website’s new job!

AI is Taking Over

Further entangling the AI mess of your website, social media, and content, another question is thrown into the mix. This one is a concern that’s still widely and wildly debated among creators, writers, authors, artists, musicians, and the world at large.

Mainly, it’s about IP, or ‘intellectual property,’ and who owns a creation. However, many are finding their work being questioned as to its authenticity, and the ‘artificial’ guy seems to have the upper hand over human writers, for example. We talked about the tug-of-war of ownership and other opinions on AI here:

In the video, we try to decipher fact from fiction among the many AI rumors. Also, the NEW YouTube content rules are discussed. AI is again in the middle of that boiling pot! {I want to create on YouTube, but the sliding targets and ambiguity in their rules are alarming!}

We also share some funny, some not, moments of AI gone astray. However, the real reminder is that AI continues to deliver non-facts, slanted takes, and fictitious results. So checking resources, data, and findings is always essential, as is the simple act of editing AI results.

And Speaking of Due Diligence

A big takeaway for businesses and content managers alike is that while using AI is highly effective, it’s also highly flawed. Some changes, and the speed of them, put a damper on, or completely halt, systems you already use or are building. For example, discontinuing GPTs hits a lot of processes already in use by businesses and requires massive adjustments for users.

The remedy is to switch them to ‘Skills,’ a universally usable data drop. But refining what went into creating each specialty GPT in the first place makes it more complicated. Jonathan Mast has a video to show you how to switch GPTs to Skills.

But Mike Allton presents “A Warning About Skills and a Checklist to Avoid Problems” in his recent post. Well, this adds to the discussion. {You can see why we are always trying to cover all sides!}

And this leads us to the biggest and perhaps most important question of all: “Who is Responsible?”

In one of our most recent videos, the conversation on AI continues, but focuses on that very question. It’s a good one, and we look at a few angles to come to some critical conclusions. Watch or listen to the entire surprising but interesting conversation here:

Sharing Joanna Wiebe’s take on AI responsibility gets right to the point, letting you know YOU are in charge of how, when, and why AI is integrated into your business! Hard to hear? Maybe, but absolutely true. And guess what? This applies to the ‘Tech Bros’ too… You guys are responsible for what you put out into the market. If your products aren’t safe, YOU are responsible. And liable. Just like we are.

Human-First Meet Human-Last Content

Definitely take this last note from Joanna on at least one final thing: Human-Last when it comes to using AI for your business. This great business advice from Joanna is the same advice that Google is currently suggesting. Ann Smarty explains more about the signals Google is looking for to judge scan your content in another recent post talking about ‘content effort.’

Speaking of effort, you can see how incorporating AI for your business operations goes much deeper than just jumping in haphazardly. “Prompt Engineering” has nearly disappeared from the discussion as agentic AI invades, and “Orchestrator of AI” becomes the descriptor of the bigger, deeper keeper of AI than simply ‘prompts.’

Another bigger descriptor for AI is the proposed rebranding to SI, or SuperIntelligence, and I see why a rebrand is needed on several levels. The All-In Podcast is a favorite source for an inside take on the state of AI. They give you some of the tech guy and business perspectives, along with insider government understanding via David Sachs, technology advisor to the White House.

You can check out a lot of good resources on their All In Podcast YouTube Channel.

And if you’re using an AI checker to see if AI is indeed finding your content, this new study by Andy over at Orbit Media may be another shocker for you. It looks like AI visibility checkers aren’t everything they’re cracked up to be, but we know there are always other sides of every AI issue to uncover.

I’m going to keep creating and writing for humans. And hopefully along the way, AI search, like Google before it, finds a way to notice.
