The best thing about going LIVE is having the opportunity to interact with colleagues and viewers—friends, new and old! It’s a true learning experience, hopefully from both sides of the camera. The conversations bring out new ideas, provoke questions, and uncover the latest scoops on all things business and content.
It’s a thoughtful process, both pre-production and post. Striving to improve with each effort is one core goal. But learning and sharing with others is the top priority for every show, and a high standard to meet.
Beyond the challenge of coming back at this late date, and after an extended break, is that it feels risky (maybe a better word is scary) enough to create or publish anything at all, let alone speak publicly.
As many of you understand, life’s curveballs can change who you are, and obviously, a new you is a you who sees many things differently. Hard changes can ignite a fire, or snuff out every tiny spark, completely.
Season Two, Woot Woot Woo
Fortunately, The Marketing Mirror’s new season includes a collaboration with an extraordinary colleague and well-respected, established marketer, Jaime Shine.
We eased in by doing a series of SPACES Events (LIVE Audio Only chats on X) where we noted many mistakes, or at least areas for improvement, and gathered tons of input. Out of this pre-planning phase, our new character avatars were born, giving Jaime and me a new way to share the best stuff.
Along the way, we realized how extremely important it is to maintain a human connection, especially in this time of AI invasion. And to top that, we understand the value of conversation that includes other people— it means everything. Having a two-way or ten-way conversation expands the value, plus increases the depth of perception and understanding of any topic.
Stepping Up to YouTube
The decision to take the show to YouTube is one of listening to our own business advice, as shared and chit-chatted about in our LIVE audio events and content. Our first YouTube LIVE went very well, with a few very human snafus, but hey, we did it!!
The Marketing Mirror is looking forward to a great Season 2 of shows, and now we have one in the can! If you missed it, you can still check it out! Please leave us your comments, and mark your busy schedule to join us for the next LIVE, Fridays at 1 pm Eastern, on YouTube!
#Replays are cool, too:) Cheers to Season 2… we hope to see you there…
Although our series promises to be an Adventure in Social Media Marketing, you’ll notice that this first LIVE starts with a higher-level overview of the impact of the AI era we are all experiencing more intently than ever. These are important discussions and also offer a pathway into the major effects on social media marketing that we’ll be exploring.
As AI-generated content floods our feeds and algorithms shift, trust in social platforms is being redefined, raising questions about authenticity, creativity, and the role of human connection in marketing.
But the bigger picture looks at the implications on education, business, and brain health, including critical thinking and other biological and cognitive phenomena. This isn’t just supposition; we show the studies, some of which directly oppose each other. But we have to ask the questions so we can continue our discovery, thoughtfully and meaningfully. And even though it may seem we are looking at AI critically, we also celebrate and embrace the magic of human and AI collaborations, as shown with examples.
Education, Thought Leadership, and Business: AI’s Role
AI touches all aspects of future existence. But it’s untested and quickly evolving, making it feel like a chase to keep up. On one hand, we don’t want to lose the art and the soul of the human, human creativity, or human imagination. On the other hand, understanding and implementing AI to maximize human capabilities is likely essential going forward.
Researchers warn that surface-level use of AI is equal to fast food in education, and not a healthy diet for most! The ability to reason, expand cognitive processes, and maintain brain health may require guidelines or preventative measures.
Staying aware and alert to the ever-evolving shifts in technology feels imperative right now and certainly applies to businesses and their marketing decisions. We’re committed to continuing to share as we learn, investigate, and ask the questions. We need to know for ourselves and our clients exactly what’s hot and not in the marketing landscape, including digital and social media marketing’s place.
We need to keep a close eye on AI and its impact on every part of our businesses. Adding to our own skills and abilities by how well we incorporate AI into operations is imperative.
While AI offers endless marketing possibilities, maintaining a customer-first focus during this technology surge will amplify, not erode, genuine relationship building for your business.
In turn, maintaining a customer-first approach requires attention to employee wellness and brain health, as well as an understanding of the implications of AI integration.

New AI New Vocabulary
The research for this episode brought us to some of the latest data, scientific findings, and insights we share in the video. It also introduced us to a slew of newly created vocabulary relating to the infusion of AI into aspects of:
- education and younger minds,
- mental exhaustion, fog, and other effects on the workforce, and
- brain health as impacted by the use of AI.
Some of the new terms uncovered in looking at the biology of the brain include:
- Cognitive Offloading
- Synaptic Strengthening
- Cognitive Atrophy
- Automation Bias
- Great Unwiring
- Cognitive Friction
- AI Brain Fry
We also learned that there’s an incongruency between how businesses and their customers view the so-called successful use of AI. This knowledge reflects an undeniable gap between adopting purposeful and business-driving tools that improve customer care and REAL improvements as experienced by customers.
There’s no doubt AI is infiltrating in imagined and unimagined ways, but the disconnect remains a chasm between how AI is perceived and used now and where it all lands.
We’re in the middle of a technological typhoon. It’s scary and fun, but also chaotic. Still, we’re in it, and it’s happening. The best move now is to continue to explore, test, refine, and challenge ourselves and businesses to find solid ground in order to operate at our highest potential.
We’d love to know where you stand on AI and how you are seeing its role in your business. Please share your thoughts and comments below, or on our YouTube videos. Better yet, join the conversation LIVE on Fridays!! And thank you for your kind support:)
