Why Your Business Needs a Blog
If the idea is to build your digital presence, an excellent blog is a perfect way to do just that for most businesses.
The thing is, just as content marketing is not merely a marketing campaign but more an ongoing mindset, your blog, too, is more significant than one content type or mere words.
Your blog is both a business hub and a business driverClick To TweetA lot of marketers, analytics geeks, content creators, ad and pr agencies, website and app developers, alike, are stressing a slew of things deemed to be essential content marketing tasks.
They emphasize you seek things like SEO and SERP advantages, rankings and authority measures, organic traffic, backlinks, and more, and I agree these do factor enormously into digital marketing.
But…
If your business is not strictly an online business, your content marketing and blog strategy may do better to hop off the analytics train for a minute.
There’s Something Besides Google
Start with something less elusive, especially at the beginning of your digital journey.
Concentrate on flesh and bones—the most critical component—by taking a look from a human perspective. The human you call a customer that is.
Sure, we all want Google to like us but, what we probably need and want more is a customer. A buyer. A client. A person we can connect to and work with and establish a mutually beneficial business relationship.
That’s why looking at your content marketing strategy and blog objectives require finding a way to incorporate user experience (UX) into your overall plan. Remember, your customers ARE your brand.

Thank you for the lovely comment. A blog is so malleable and so it keeps your business out there, participating, in an ongoing way. Folks don’t always realize a blog’s ability to build a strong relationship with an audience (i.e. customers) for your business, just as you point out here.
Thanks for taking time and highlighting the key point! Take care, Sue-Ann

I think it was Ryan Biddulph I heard say the other day, your blog is your ‘content portal” and I love that analogy because it really is a look into your business/product/service and how you can help people. But, for me, the rich mix adds an element of surprise as well as varying how you offer your valuable content. I think this makes for a better experience for people and adds to that potentially unlimited thing!
Thanks for taking the time to check this one out and comment, too. I appreciate it, Sue-Ann
Hello Sue-Ann,
Great content indeed. There is no stronger marketing tool for any business or individual than a blog. It speaks more than a resume. And looking through your project portfolio in the service section of this blog, there is no doubt you know your job.👍👍👍

All power reasons Sue-Ann. The content hub idea vibes with me because I see blogs as content central. Readers or customers can scan and enjoy your free help. Plus you can sell anything through a self-hosted blog. 1 stop shopping too. Excellent post.
Thanks so much, Ryan! It always makes my day when I see you pop in:)
You know, I’m trying to listen to you and Mike Allton and just write what I know and know well and this was exactly that! I’m like you in that I love this stuff and live, eat, sleep, and drown myself in blogging work on an everyday basis!!
P.S. I have so much up my sleeve and in the works to put my self-hosted site to work, more and more. Thanks again for the kind support and commenting, sharing, and the great helpful content you offer to your fellow bloggers. With appreciation, Sue-Ann
